Privacy policy

1. Who we are
This policy covers Doom Slice (“we”, “us”), 14 Dame Lane, Dublin 2, D02 XC91, and this website. We decide how the information you give us is used, which makes us its controller under the GDPR. Questions about your data go to info@doomslice.pizza.
2. What we collect
Only what you give us through the site, for the thing you’re doing:
- Orders (catering, delivery, merch and gift cards): your name, email, phone number, delivery address and Eircode, the date and time you pick, what you order, and any special requests or event details you add. Gift cards also carry each recipient’s name and email and your message to them.
- Messages from the Say Hello form or the “have questions?” box: your name, email and message.
- The pizza club: your email address.
- Feedback from the forms behind our QR codes: your answers, which QR code you came from and the time. If you enter the monthly draw we keep your email for it, and if you tick “send me occasional doom news” we add it to the pizza club list.
- Card payments are taken by Square. Your card details go straight to Square and never reach us.
3. How we use it
- To make, deliver and charge for your order, and to contact you about it (legal basis: our contract with you).
- To reply to your messages and feedback (our legitimate interest in answering you).
- To run the monthly draw you entered and contact the winner (our agreement with you when you enter).
- To send the pizza club emails you signed up for (your consent — unsubscribe any time from any email).
- To understand how the shop and the site are doing: sales totals and feedback counts, viewed only by our team (our legitimate interest in running the business).
- To keep the records Irish tax law requires.
- To keep the site secure: if someone tries to sign in to our staff dashboard with an address that isn’t approved, our team is emailed the address used, the time, the approximate location and IP address, and the browser (our legitimate interest in protecting the site).
4. Who we share it with
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information. It’s seen by our own team, and by the services that run parts of the site for us, only to do that job:
- Square — payments, orders, gift cards and our customer records.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Resend — sends order confirmations and forwards your messages to us.
- Google Maps Platform — suggests addresses as you type and measures how far your Eircode is from our kitchen.
- Mailchimp — holds the pizza club list and sends its emails.
- Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies: which pages are visited, roughly where from (country and city, worked out from your connection), what device and browser, which link or campaign brought you here, and whether an order or enquiry went through (what was ordered and its value). It never receives your name, email, phone number, address or anything you type into a form. Google Analytics keeps this for 14 months.
- Upstash and our database provider — store order reference numbers, feedback answers and sales summaries for our team.
Some of these companies are based outside the EU. Where your data leaves the EU, it’s protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
5. How long we keep it
- Orders and payment records: six years, as Irish tax law requires.
- Messages and feedback: up to two years, then deleted.
- Draw entries: your email is deleted automatically once that month’s draw is finished — at the latest two months after you enter. Your answers stay, without it.
- The pizza club: until you unsubscribe.
- Google Analytics: 14 months in Google Analytics. If you accepted analytics and placed an order, we keep the order number with your browser’s anonymous Google Analytics id for 13 months, so a refund can be matched to the sale.
6. Cookies and similar
We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Your browser keeps your cart and any order in progress so you don’t lose it if you leave the page; that stays on your device. Everything else is your choice, one kind at a time: analytics (Google Analytics, and counting visits to our feedback surveys without identifying you) and functional (Google’s address suggestions on our order forms). Nothing optional runs until you say yes, and you can change your mind any time on our cookies page, or from “cookie settings” on our say hello page. We rely on your consent for these; for analytics, our interest is in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. Links we share on social media carry campaign tags, so analytics can tell which platform a visit came from; they’re only counted if you accept analytics, and nothing is reported back to the platform. The full list is in our cookies policy.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it, limit what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to us using it and withdraw any consent you’ve given. Email info@doomslice.pizza and we’ll reply within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
8. Changes
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
